Godorenshu, Feb. 2005

Contributor: Toronto Branch Master John McCulloch

On the evening of February 28, 2005, members from ShorinjiKempo Ontario Branches gathered at Toronto Branch for a Godorenshu (group training session). Branches in attendance were Eglinton, Leaside and Toronto. A winter storm prevented Huronia Branch members from attending.

The event included the first Kyu level examination for members of Leaside Branch - a major milestone in the development of that Branch.

In addition, we used some of the time to prepare for the forthcoming Haru Matsuri (Spring Festival) demonstration to be held at 3:30PM on March 5 at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto.

We view these Godorenshu as important opportunities for us to improve our techniques and forge bonds of friendship between all Ontario kenshi. It is our earnest hope that we can develop and promote a high standard of ShorinjiKempo in this region.

We look forward to the next Godorenshu, which is scheduled to be held at Leaside Branch in May 2005.
